The Derfflinger-class battle cruiser is the battle cruiser class of the Imperial German Navy, the first ship is Derfflinger and the second ship is Lutzow. Derfflinger and Lützow were put into service in 1914 and 1916, respectively, and participated in the Battle of Jutland in 1916, where Lützow sank, and Derfflinger was wrecked and sank in 1919 after World War I.
